You're hOMe
I’ve been thinking a lot about community lately, and about what it really means to commit to a teacher, a practice and a group of people.
There are plenty of places to practise yoga these days, and I love that there is so much choice. But I also think something quite special happens when you stop looking for the next class and decide to stay.
One of the things I feel most grateful for about Do Your OM Thing is that I genuinely know the people who come through the door. I know your names, your pets’ names and the things you’ve told me months — sometimes years — ago. Many of you have my phone number and can message me directly. And better than that; you actually message me! There’s no customer service inbox or feeling like you’re just another name on a booking system.
That’s intentional. I’m not interested in building the biggest yoga business I possibly can or spreading myself thin in order to squeeze more people into more classes. I want to do my work well, and I want to have the space to actually know the people I teach. When I teach you, I give a little bit of my heartea.
I think the same is true of your practice. When you commit to me as your teacher and our yoga cOMmunity, you give yourself the chance to experience something deeper. I learn how you move, when you push too hard, when you need encouragement and when you need permission to do less.

You get to know the people around you, notice when someone is missing and watch each other’s lives unfold alongside your own.
To everyone who has made Do Your OM Thing Yoga their home, a heartfelt thank you. I feel incredibly lucky to know you, to practise alongside you and see my dream of a community come true. We move, breathe and belong, on and off the mat. Community isn’t just about coming to class; it’s about the feeling that you’re part of something. The familiar faces, the conversations before and after practice, the shared laughs, the encouragement, and knowing that there are people who will notice when you’re there — and when you’re not. These little connections might seem insignificant, but over time they become the fabric of a community.
And if you want to take a little piece of that philosophy out into the world, there’s the Do Your OM Thing merch. I make every piece myself, in small batches, so nothing is mass-produced or sitting on a shelf by the thousand. Each one is a little bit different and completely one of a kind — made by me, for this community.
Wearable yoga philosophy : )
