Finding balance in the shift of March

March always feels like a bridge to me.
Winter hasn’t fully left, but spring is clearly arriving. The light is coming back, the mornings feel a little softer, and suddenly there are buds on trees that looked completely lifeless just weeks ago.
Something is shifting.
But that shift doesn’t always feel smooth. One day you might feel full of energy and motivation, and the next you feel a bit slow, foggy or scattered. That’s actually very March.
In yoga I talk about balance a lot, but real balance isn’t standing perfectly still without wobbling. Real balance is the small adjustments we make as things move and change.
March invites that kind of balance.

Around the spring equinox in a few weeks, day and night sit in equal measure for a brief moment before the light begins to grow stronger again. It’s a beautiful reminder that balance isn’t about staying the same — it’s about noticing where we are and responding with care.
So this month in our practice, the focus is simple; steadiness inside change. Not forcing yourself to move faster than you need to. Not staying stuck either. Just noticing where your energy is and letting the practice meet you there. Because when yoga bends to you, something powerful happens. Things start to shift. And that feels like the perfect energy for March.
