Move Slowly, The Light Will Meet You

Every December, as the nights stretch long and everything slows down, I think of the old story about the traveller walking through the forest with a tiny lantern. She keeps wishing for daylight — for the whole path to appear at once — but the lantern only gives her enough light for the next few steps. And that’s exactly how this season works.

We’re not meant to have the full plan, the perfect clarity, or the big burst of motivation. Winter invites us to move gently, to trust our inner light, and to stop forcing answers that aren’t ready yet.

The Winter Solstice reminds us that even at the darkest point, the light quietly begins its return. Not dramatically — just a subtle shift, the kind you only notice when you soften.

So if you feel tired, reflective, or a little unsure, nothing is wrong. You’re just in the season of the slow exhale.

Let December be spacious. Let the lantern lead. Trust the next small step — it’s enough.

See you in January!
